A well-known mobile technology firm wanted a responsive interactive wayfinding solution to direct guests and visitors through the facility. The interactive wayfinding solution needed to incorporate 3D building maps that allowed users to become more familiar with their surroundings.

The organization wanted the new wayfinding platform to integrate with the existing digital signage and content management system.

Solution

Radiant Technology worked with the firm’s IT department, facilities team and mapping software company to integrate a 3D interactive wayfinding system. The integration included mapping, room scheduling and occupancy data collected by building management.

Interactive digital signage systems were installed in high-traffic areas on each floor of the facility. As a user approaches a display, a map with a current location icon appears on the screen. Then the user can choose to find an available room or locate a particular space.

When a user chooses to locate an available room, all unoccupied spaces are highlighted on the 3D map of the floor. If a user opts to locate a particular room, a keyboard appears on the screen. The user enters the room name or number, and the map shows the most direct route to the chosen destination.

Since the wayfinding platform is part of the overall digital signage system, the solution also includes traditional HR messaging, emergency notifications and local weather content.
