We aim to foster a collective conversation about delivering exceptional experiences for passengers and our airport customers. This calculator seeks to introduce newly defined standards that the industry can utilize to ensure optimal selections for dvLED in airport applications where finer text is required.

This is a three part calculator.

Worksheet 1: FONT HEIGHT Calculator is designed to help you determine the relationship between Font Pixel Density verses acceptable Viewing Distances relative to different available Pixel Pitches.  This is designed to help determine the range of acceptable Pixel Pitches available for use in a project.

Worksheet 2: LG Cabinet Config calculator allows you to specify different cabinet specifications and present the overall cabinet configuration to fit your project.

Worksheet 3: FIDS LINES CALCULATOR will take your cabinet configuration and let you set your line spacing between rows of text and space for the desired header and footers to determine how many rows of data will fit.

As you make changes in the Font Height, Cabinet Configuration and Row Spacing, this can help determine if there are an appropriate amount of rows for flight data to be presented well for the Airport.

As this is the first generation of this document and its calculators and is a work in progress, please validate the results on your own.  Any issues with calculation or results that you feel are not accurate, please let us know so we can make changes and communicate to the community.  This is a continuous improvement effort, so we encourage your feedback and input to enhance this initiative.
